Last weeken
d the winter vegetables held their annual family reunion at Wintergreen Resort, and it was a hoot! As always, Uncle Parsnip and Aunt Turnip drank too much and started arguing over who was sweeter. Aunt Turnip stalked off saying she should have married Parsnip’s brother, Uncle Carrot. Awkward!! Of course Cousin Butternut Squash dressed completely inappropriately, and you could totally see her seeds peeking out of the slit down her bump. But everyone excused it because they know that inside she has spectacular flavor. Things got really hilarious when little Nephew Cabbage got into the stock. He had a bit too much and started running around screaming “I contain unique anti-oxidants and youuuu dddoonnn’ttt,” which was silly because everyone in the family does. Then he started picking on his brother, Pear, for not being a vegetable. Produce can be so cruel when young! Things got pretty loud and rowdy until the band, Stevie Coconut Milk and the Raging Gingers, started playing. Then everyone just pureed and had a grand old time. What a delicious weekend!
