The Winning White Bean, Carrot, Pear Combination Soup

White beans, carrots, and pear = divine!

Joe, the pear, always dreamed of having his name in lights. He hit the stage in every town he could – from Atlantic City, New Jersey to Wassau, Wisconsin. But the audience was confused. “Get off the stage, Joe! You’re a fruit!!” Some would even throw tomatoes at him (not realizing the irony of throwing fruit at a fruit). He realized he needed some help – a back up crew. He called up his old high school buddies – Carmen, the carrot, and Alan, the white bean. And let me tell you – the result was smashing! The audiences couldn’t get enough of them!! “Subtly sweet and creamy!!” raved the New York Times. “How can there not be dairy in this??” asked the Washington Post. “So warm and filling!” wrote the Wassau Whippler (now only available online). The combo was so delicious that no one seemed to mind that they were paying money to see soup – live – on stage. Weird!

Ingredients (in no particular order): carrots, pears, white beans, leeks, rosemary, salt, pepper, canola oil, onions, homemade vegetable stock goodness

Hi! Although we have loved almost every soup we have tried, my friend and I were disappointed in the white bean, carrot & pear soup today. We found the texture to be a little too “bean-y” (isn’t that helpful?) but more importantly, the soup was underseasoned. Just not our favorite (but we will be back for your other selections!!).

    Thanks

Big SG fan…thogh this was not a huge favorite — I actually was surprised how not “bean-y” it was, but agree w/the above reviewer — the flavors were otherwise too subtle…I sort of forgot what kind of soup it was as I was eating it. Still, a v nice soup.

You know how much I love your soups. I must agree that this was not a big hit for me. It was a little bland—I am a chunky white bean soup eater myself…however I am always open for a new twist. I could not really taste the key ingredients. I will be back for the next soups. Keep up the great soups! Will always continue to be a soup fan of yours.
