This soup is so delicate and fragile that I’m often afraid of breaking it. Last weekend, I said, “Come on soup, the sun is shining! Let’s go hiking in Rock Creek Park!” “Oh no,” it said. “I couldn’t. I don’t want to get dirt all over my fennel. And I spent hours last night styling my carrots. And you know what the humidity does to my carrots. Right now they are perfect. Plus the big dance is tonight.” Oh soup, why so fragile? Why so delicate? Live a little! Throw caution in the wind! Let your orange juice side shine through! And while we are giving out free advice… Soupergirl – stop trying to make your soups go hiking with you. Especially right before the big dance. Hey, why wasn’t I invited to the dance??
Ingredients (in no particular order): carrots, fennel, orange juice, garlic, olive oil, salt, pepper, homemade vegetable stock goodness
Soup type: Cold, Pureed

A great soup — the fennel was delicate; not overpowering; just enough OJ for a tang, but not sweet. Hearty, but not heavy. A keeper.
Yum yum yum! I was surpised how much I liked this soup. Creamy without the cream, and lots of great fennel flavor. Please bring it back.
