I discovered this soup late one night when I was surfing through Youtube videos. Apparently it has been viewed by 10.5 billion people, and counting. Listen to this crazy story – Susan Red Lentil, this shy little soup from a small village, auditioned for a show called Britain’s Got Soup. She’s not the prettiest of soups – she has no carrots or celery, and, well, she’s never been pureed. But the minute she heated up, the entire audience jumped to their feet. I had never seen anything like it. The judges where aghast. What depth of flavor! Astonishing bold tastes! Such complex textures! Where did it come from?? And of course, now the debate starts. Should Susan Red Lentil pluck her lentils? Should she clean up her bowl? I don’t think so. I think Susan Red Lentil is perfect just the way she is.
Ingredients (in no particular order): red lentils, cumin, coriander, curry, tomatoes, cayenne, salt, pepper, garlic, onion, vegetable oil, homemade vegetable stock goodness
Soup type: Chunky

We LOVED this soup. Big hit. It was so nice to meet you today! Any chance that you will expand and deliver soup more than 1x/week?!
Holy-moley. This was a fantastic soup. I think it’s my favorite lentil version yet. We wish we had more.
Really loved this soup too. Excellent.
This one wasn’t my favorite. Maybe lentils need a bit more in the flavor department?
Outstanding Soup! Absolutely loved it! Five Spoons definitely!
Soupergirl, i have to admit i felt vaugely uneasy about my boyfriend subscribing to your services, since i ALREADY cook him healthy and delicious food. But after trying this soup and the Thai carrot, i have to admit you’ve done a great job. Could i by any chance have the recipe? He is already hooked, and so i am, so i don’t think we will pose any challenge to your business ;-)
Unfortunately, I did not care for this soup’s texture… although I liked its flavor.
loved it. possibly addictive.
So good! I had it this week while battling a bout of mono. Needless to say, it did not exactly cure me, but it did make getting better a whole lot tastier.
Didn’t care for the tomato chunks, but that’s just me being picky. Amazing spice mixture and tasty lentils. Maybe add peas or carrots?
This was not my favorite soup. I thought it needed a bit of sweetness to it–I added some sweet balsamic vinegar to it and liked it more.
