Summer Blockbuster Chickpea Wheatberry Soup

Five stars!! Bravo!

I admit it. I love summer blockbuster movies. Can’t get enough of them. And this one is clearly going to be a hit. The story is pretty typical – earth is being attacked by a meteor covered with aliens and processed food. At first, the people of earth panic, and then come together and grow one big local garden to fight the meteor. YAWN! So typical, right? Wrong! The characters bring this one together! “Chickpeas and wheat berries?? What an unlikely and magical combination,” says the Washington Post. “Local basil really makes this one. I mean, there is no taste like it – I just can’t get enough,” says the New York Times. “While the war against processed foods is part of a liberal conspiracy, we can’t deny the glorious different textures and flavors in this soup,” writes the Wall Street Journal. Wow. In its own way, even the Wall Street Journal appreciates it – need I say more??

Ingredients (in no particular order): carrots, chick peas, wheat berries, celery, cabbage, spinach, sage, rosemary, parsley, thyme, bay leaves, cayenne pepper, tomatoes, onion, garlic, olive oil, salt, pepper, homemade vegetable stock
