This soup has the biggest ego. I’m honestly not sure why I still hang out with it. I mean, yes, it has fabulous exotic spices such as thyme, turmeric, cardamom, cinnamon, cloves, and nutmeg. But really, how about a little humility. And it just loves to point out that it has French green lentils, rather than regular lentils. The French green lentils are smaller and hold their shape incredibly well, and blah, blah, blah – I just tune it out at that point. Anytime I try to change the subject, it’s like – oh don’t forget about my coconut milk – you’ve never had a soup like me. Last week, this soup was, as usual, bragging away. Finally I burst out and yelled “YOU ARE JUST SOUP!! JUST A SOUP!!” The soup was quiet for a second, and then it said – “exactly.”

Love it — the spices, the lentils, the attitude, it is GREAT! But I am now addicted to the PITA chips and because I failed to order last night by 11pm, I won’t have any brownies for next week, or soup! So sad.
This is a good soup but I would plan to serve it with something that has a little umph to it to even out the powerful spice like some sort of topping, e.g. a little cream or cheese over the top, some thick sea salt, flavored oil, etc.
This soup smelled sooooo good when I reheated it. I am not normally a lentil soup fan (except for the ones served in Turkish restaurants) but this raised my eyebrows with complete satisfaction on my face :)
I love this soup! It is one of my very favorites. Soupergirl, bring this soup back!
