Harira is the national soup of Morocco. Moroccans must be extremely patriotic to have a national soup. Kudos to them. And what an excellent choice! I have a hunch that every time they eat this soup they jump out of their chairs and sing the Moroccan national anthem, because this soup is simply divine. It is one of the heartiest soups we serve. The combination of chick peas, tomatoes, spices, and pasta will fill your tummy and warm your soul. It might cause you to hum the song “Marrakech Express.” Soupermom started dancing around the kitchen singing it after we named this soup. Soupermom does that sometimes, when inspired by really good soup. Maybe you should buy a copy on itunes so you can join Soupermom in her singing. Or, maybe just stick to ordering the soup.

Wow, wow, wow. I didn’t know soup could taste this good. The hint of cinnamon is just perfect. And the chickpeas! Just, wow. I wish I’d ordered a lot more. Soupergirl, you’ve found yourself a new, loyal customer!
The perfect soup for a cold and nasty night! Adding the fresh lemon, as suggested, gave it just the right zip.
Delicious and very hearty! A bit more cinnamon would have been good, but overall, fantastic. Also LOVE the pita chips. I ate then on the way back from picking up my soup – I just couldn’t wait!
This soup is so fine…its Simply irresistible.
a definite 5. so hearty and flavorful. loved it. wish i had ordered 2 quarts.
Oh, yummy. Hearty adn delicious. I decided to be wild and splash in a little lime juice instead of lemon juice, and that gave it a really lovely flavor. I wish I had ordered more as well.
Since I love hearty soup and chickpeas, I’ll give this a 5. I followed Danielle’s advice and used lime juice instead of lemon and it was excellent! I’m glad I ordered a quart.
This is by far my favorite soup. I love the heartiness and the spices. Bring this soup back, soupergirl!!
This soup is amazing! Such an explosion of flavors in my mouth. I just sat and slowly savored each spoonful.
Just finished off the last little bit for breakfast. I really enjoyed this soup. I added some hot sauce to spice it up a bit.
So hearty and homey. It warmed my heart. Yum!
Rockin’ my Casbah!
Delicious!! It’s one of my favorites! I’ve started ordering two quarts so I can eat it throughout the week – it just makes me happy.
My family has been getting your soups for a while, and this is my favorite, so far. Loved the lentils :)
I’m not a big lentil fan, but you did a great job incorporating the lentils and the delicious flavors. One of my favorites for sure!
