Before last week’s snowstorm, I was hanging out with Linus in the pumpkin patch while we were waiting for the Great Pumpkin. We talked about things like his attachment to his blanket, Lucy’s mean streak, and pumpkin soup recipes. Linus pointed out that people sometimes don’t get creative enough with the pumpkins. Linus really had some out-of-the-box ideas. At one point he joked, “Somebody should do something totally crazy like mix pumpkins with split peas. And then, like, puree them or something! But no one I know is creative enough to do such a thing.” Listen, I am not one to pass up a challenge from a member of the Peanuts crew. So Soupermom and I whipped up this soup. While cooking, Snoopy dropped off some dill from his urban garden. The whole thing came together fabulously. Smooth yet filling. Such a delicate pumpkin flavor! Oh Linus, you underrated Peanut! How wise you are in the ways of soup!
Ingredients (in no particular order): pumpkin, yellow split peas, dill, carrot, celery, soy sauce, cider vinegar, cloves, Tabasco sauce, homemade vegetable stock goodness, garlic, salt, pepper, olive oil, onion
Soup type: Pureed

Delicious! Absolutely amazing. Very flavorful, creamy… just right! Yum!
