I think we all remember Ice Ice Vichyssoise’s fall from grace back in the 90’s. He totally lied about his background – telling everyone he came from a creamy family in the soup hood. Truth is, Ice Ice Vichyssoise has no cream. Nope. No dairy. And the truth is, he’s beginning to recognize his natural talents. Why lie, Ice Ice? You are cool and refreshing. You have carrots and garlic scapes. Heck, most people don’t even know what a garlic scape is! But not you – you embrace the scape! And you are so smooth and refreshing – perfect for a hot summer day. Ice, Ice Vichyssoise, welcome back. We’ve missed you.
Ingredients (in no particular order): carrots, leeks, potatoes, garlic scapes, garlic, salt, pepper, vegetable oil, homemade vegetable stock goodness
Soup type: Cold, Pureed

Another winner!
I have to agree — yet another winning soup from the Soupergirl! I wasn’t sure how I would do with a cold soup, but this soup has been added to my favorites list. Keep them coming Soupergirl….you have lots of happy soup customers. Would like to add, loved the cooking segment of you and Soupermom on Channel 9 news! Great job!!!
Creamy and delicious…I would love to see this little fella grace the Soupergirl menu again.
Very good and very impressive that it doesn’t have milk or cream. Yum!
I really really loved this soup. More! Ice ice baby…
I liked this one a lot — a real lot — but it did have a v slight “tin” taste on the finish. I suspect this is the garlic scapes and since I like them a lot (so much more subtle than garlic), I’d still order this soup again in a NY minute. But, if you are sensitive to those sorts of flavors, now you know. It’s a great creamy soup w/out the fat of cream.
This soup is so great that I wanted to eat it for breakfast because waiting for lunch seemed too long! Perfect blend of flavors — the garlic and garlic scapes give it a wonderful taste! Yum!
I ordered a quart and kept spooning out of it – so delicious and refreshing – so creamy with no cream!! I’m not sure I love garlic scapes – they were great in the soup but left an aftertaste. Still a great soup though!
I was concerned about enjoying a cold soup… but once again, Sara works her magic. Very tasty. My first few bites, or tastes, were cold, and they were delicious. Unfortunately my friend’s fridge froze the soup, so I heated it up. I think it was even tastier warm. Though I know that’s probably verboten for vichyssoise.
I like the flavor, but after freezing I think the soup is better warmed. Unfortunately, I didn’t get to taste it pre-freeze to know how wonderful it would be (enjoyed at its proper temperature, fresh).
Loved this one a lot! Wish I’d bought more.
We tried this one warm and it’s almost too rich. Now we have to try it cold! But yummy…
I enjoyed this soup when I had it during previous years. However, this time I was disappointed because I didn’t like it either cold or hot. When cold, its texture was too thick and gelatinous for me… and for me, it had a sour aftertaste. Heating greatly improved its texture, but I still detected a sour aftertaste which I didn’t enjoy.
Fortunately, I greatly enjoyed the wonderful Ribollita soup that I ordered at the same time.
This is my first soup from Soupergirl and I am ADDICTED. I had the lovely opportunity to met her at Dupnt Farmers Market after years of recieving the newsletter and I was in heaven. And the heaven repeats itself each time I sip this delicious, refreshing, natural soup. It’s like bliss. Can’t wait to try more!
My first disappointment. Agree with gelatinous cold. Not much flavor hot. I would definitely not order this one again. The rest are fantastic!
