I recently gave some of this soup to my brother. He liked it so much he started to cry a little. I thought this was weird because he’s 34 years old and there are more important things to cry over than good soup. But his tears made a good point. This soup is quite simply divine. Heavenly, if you will. The local Asian pears and local parsnips dance together in the bowl like Ginger Rogers and Fred Astaire in some 1940′s movie that you always see clips of on public television. The cinnamon and allspice are the ultimate winter flavors that make you want to dance around the Christmas tree, twirl a dreidel, or protest organized religion – whatever you choose. We puree it all up to silky smoothness. Don’t be embarrassed if you cry a little when you eat it. That precedent has already been set.
Ingredients (in no particular order): carrot, parsnip, Asian pear, salt, brown sugar (just a wee bit), cinnamon, allspice, vegetable oil, onion
Soup type: Pureed

I am a pretty picky (HA…alliteration) eater and I enjoyed this soup. I had a few minor issues with smell, but again that is my own pickiness.
I LOVED this soup- I don’t usually go for sweet soups, but this was just enough sweet and the texture was very comforting! YUM!
Dah-lish! A surprising combination makes for a very satisfying mouthful. Yum.
Wonderful. I love your creamy soups in general, but this was the best. Please make more soon.
Dewd. This soup is brill.
This is simply the best soup I have ever tasted!
Please, please bring this back again.
Thank you.
Absolutely delicious. I never would’ve imagined a pear soup but it was fantastic! Just enough sweetness, and the cinnamon made it so hearty and savory.
