Recently, I gave some of this soup to my brother. He liked it so much he started to cry a little. I thought this was weird because he’s 35 years old and there are more important things to cry over than good soup. But his tears made a good point. This soup is quite simply divine. Heavenly, if you will. The local pears and parsnips dance together in the bowl like Ginger Rogers and Fred Astaire in some 1940′s movie that you always see clips of on public television. The cinnamon and allspice are the ultimate autumn flavors that make you want to forget your worries and dance in a pile of leaves with glee!! We puree it all up to silky smoothness. Don’t be embarrassed if you cry a little when you eat it. That precedent has already been set.
Ingredients (in no particular order): parsnip, pear, carrot, cinnamon, all spice, brown sugar, salt, onion, canola oil, homemade vegetable stock goodness
Soup type: Pureed

I love this soup and I think it would be great served cold with vanilla ice cream! :-) Next time it’s available, I’m ordering a quart or two!!
This soup was terrific! So creamy and flavorful.
(I had to stop eating or I would have finished the whole container.) thx
This was a delicious combination, but I wish you had left out the sugar so the natural sweetness of the pear and parsnip could shine! It was almost a dessert soup as is.
This is my favorite so far!! I had to read the ingredients to my husband because he wouldn’t believe there wasn’t any cream in it.
WOW! I’m so glad we got to the market this Sunday.
loved, loved, loved this soup! please make it again … soon!!!
Agree with the above poster…great combo but a little too sweet.
Loved it. Would like to have it again
