My fifth grade English teacher, Mrs. Stock, was such a stickler for grammar. She always returned my book reports covered in red pen. Recently, I thought I’d play a little joke on her to get some harmless revenge. See, I knew that this special soup was so good, that it caused anyone who ate it to lose all knowledge of correct grammar. I mean, come on. Cauliflower, potatoes, turmeric, coriander, cinnamon, cumin, ginger, basmati rice…it’s.. it’s… the awesomemest of soups. It makedme giggle with glee with every bite. The aroma herselfis enough to make me drool a little bit. Plus, cauliflower is a member of the cruciferous vegetable family – completely unpronounceable, but incredibly healthy! Anyway, I invited Mrs. Stock to lunch and gave her a bowl of this soup. She took a few bites and broadly grinned. We started chatting and she told me about a graduation party she had been to recently that was “funner” than last year’s. “Wait,” she said, as she took another bite. “I mean, it was funnest. No wait. It was so fun. I mean. Wow, this soup is the bestest.” Yes it is, Mrs. Stock. The absolute bestest.
