Here at Soupergirl we are big Redskins fans and therefore, have lately become big Donovan McNabb fans too! One minor problem though. Did you know that Donovan McNabb used to be a spokesman for Campbell’s soup? Campbell’s “Disodium Inosinate, Disodium Guanylate” Soup!!?? So here’s the plan. After the next game, we are going to give hm this soup and perhaps he’ll ponder becoming a Soupergirl spokesman! Totally a foolproof plan. See, the soup has hearty lentils – perfect for these lovely cool evenings. We’ve added some beautiful late summer squash, some tomatoes, and of course, an amazing spice combination. Coriander, turmeric, cumin, and fresh ginger! We think that’s more alluring than “spice extract.” We simmer the soup for a long time so the flavors melt into the lentils and squash. We’ll recommend that Donovan slowly heat the soup as the sun sets and the temperature begins to drop. The luscious aromas will fill his enormous house. He’ll take a bite, run to the phone, call us up, and ask when he can start wearing the Soupergirl shirt to all Redskins events. He’ll paint the Soupergirl logo on the side of his helmet. He’ll also give us season tickets on the 50 yard line. Oh, I can’t wait!! I sure do have a lot of confidence in this lentil soup.
