Collin the Zucchini knew that tonight was his night. It was the night of the big summer dance at the Y. If he was ever going to ask Barbara the Tomato to dance, it was tonight. He put on his favorite “Frankie Says Relax” shirt – you know – the one with the ripped collar – and his acid washed jeans. He knew he looked good. His buddies, Lionel the Lemon Juice, Brad the Fresh Basil, and Nathan the Nutmeg, picked him up in Nathan’s Trans Am. Collin felt good. He walked into the dance and immediately spotted Barbara. She was wearing her Benetton polo shirt with her collar pulled up. She looked so red and juicy. Almost Paradise, the love theme from that awesome new hit movie, Footloose, was playing. It was going to be a good night. He walked right up to Barbara and said – Babs, let’s dance. She hesitated for a moment, and blushed. It is pretty hard to see a tomato blush, but trust me she did. And they danced. And danced and danced and danced. They looked amazing. At the end of the night he whispered in her ear, “you know we can be served hot or cold.” Oh Collin, you devil!!

Ingredients (in no particular order): zucchini, tomato, oregano, basil, nutmeg, lemon juice, sugar, salt, pepper, vegetable oil, onion, chives, homemade vegetable stock goodness
